salem darmstadt salem church founded 1856 evangelist/evangelical (1880) german evangelical salem roots back to 1850s with traveling preacher at various homes founded first church built fall 1857 in 1880 and 1899 atlas used to have school with it (behind church facing n) gothic revival tore down old one and built current church 1892 dedicated 9-11 1892 c1900 new school building e&r 1943 became salem evangelical of inglefield 1952 school building moved one mile from darmstadt on darmstadt rd parish hall built cemetery 1860-present inglefield
