1st & Locust Streets

Scene shows corner of First and Locust streets. The buildings in the foreround have all been destroyed. L Fritsch was a fashionable merchant tailor and importer who lived at his shop. To the left of Fritsch is the Evansville Opera House. Gumberts Opera Saloon and Billiards on the right edge of the picture later became Laroo's and then Allee Rouge. In the center of the picture across Locust is the St George hotel. The "SE" on the building at left is the Sherwood House
