Courtesy Willard Library, Karl K. Knecht photograph This photograph, taken around 1900, shows the Vanderburgh County Poor Farm, which is no longer standing. The Bob Hamilton Golf Course now sits on a portion of the former farm. grew up on North Fares Avenue in Evansville across from what is now Atlas Van Lines. A few blocks west of his boyhood home is Little Pigeon Creek that ran through a part of the Vanderburgh County Poor Farm. Some of it was on land that is now Hamilton Golf Course. The rest is barns and apartments
