Cook tower downed

The stubborn smokestack at the old Cook's Brewery fell grudgingly to the wrecking ball today, marking the final demise of all structures of the old downtown brewery from the Civic Center site. After several angles of attack, the wreckers finally decided to pound away at the tall chimney, tearing off brick by brick, as a large crowd watched.
