Traffic lane to nowhere (7th onto Sycamore)

The new intersection at 7th and Sycamore features a spare lane that's causing raised eyebrows among passing motorists. It is on 7th and apparently was intended as a left turn lane for cars to head toward the river, but Sycamore is a one-way in the opposite direction as the sign indicates. The turn lane, installed "in case future changes are made in the traffic flow of downtown", was blocked off by a new strip of curbing
