First church building in Evansville
The above photograph of the First Presbyterian Church in Evansville is to be presented to the Vanderburgh Co Museum Assoc. The edifice stood on a hill newar the corner of 2nd and Main Sts, now the site of the Strouse & Bros annex. The building adjoining was a public school. The church building was torn down in 1860 just as the Civil War was beginning and was succeded by the Walnut St Presbyterian Church
