Walnut-Chestnut School with addition 1923

View looking northwest from 9th and Chestnut. The old Chestnut St School is at right and the new addition is at left. Ziliak & Schaefer can be seen down the road at Walnut St (far left)."The addition at Walnut-Chestnut School provides four additional classrooms as well as a gymnasium/auditorium. The structure which is made of brick, is well supplied with windows, furnishing the maximum of light and air. A centralized heating plant has been installed under the building by which the two old buildings as well as the new can be heated"
