Armstrong Furniture
The U. W. Armstrong furniture factory was on the southwest corner of Fourth and Court Streets from 1864 to 1875 when they moved to Franklin Street and Seventh Avenue and put up the massive building shown here. In 1893 they quit business and Mr. Armstrong moved to Memphis. While in Evansville, he lived in the former Barnes residence on Riverside Avenue on the present Public Museum, in the very house which in 1904 became the first Evansville Museum.
