View from atop the Furniture Building around 1914
Evansville c 1914 was a coal-burning city and as seen here quite smoky. View from atop the Furniture (Court) Building looking south. The traversing road is 4th St. The Old YMCA can be seen in the center. In the hazy background (from L to R) is Trinity Methodist, First Presbyterian's tower, Old City Hall, Cumberland Presbyterian, Walnut St Presbyterian, St Paul Episcopal, and water works?. St George Hotel appears next to the Ohio River in the upper right.
