opened in 1855 as one of the finest hotels in the young river city washington hotel 4 story brick vickery and cooper grocers 1878 (vickery bros) moved 1884 2nd st Evansville Commercial College moved in in 1878. The building acquired its French Second Empire mansard roof then. school stayed through at least 1890
