article 9/6/50 a push to create a single union twp school began as far back as 1928 but politics between the Upper and Lower Ends and the Depression delayed any plans. Land bought 1950 at corner of Cypress-Dale and Pleasant

School kids started there in Jan 1953 after Barker School was closed union twp school built 1955 4 room evsc 1962 proposed closed (daniel wertz and white)1968 finally closed 1969 old Union Township Elementary consolidated all the old township schools

closed 1969 assimilated into DW later >60s added townships bringing union twp fought legal battle against consolidation auctioned off 1971

closed c1972 sold to private individual

razed in aug 1994 after a private owner let the building deteriorate beyond repair and a pig sty
