near mouth of pigeon originally known as Fish lake became sweezer pond in 1818 when widow nellie sweezer opened a ferry on pigeon creek secure location to cut ice for storage and to tie off barges and boats. wintertime skating in 1888 map sweezer pond was filled level in 1911. the lloyd expwy bridge passes directly over sweezer pond filled in >1906 possibly when expressway bridge built c1950s
