opened 1909 william kneer general store and tavern When the P D & E railroad was built through the area in 1888, Armstrong was originally located closer to the intersection of Boonville-New Harmony Rd, but train service centered the town here around the railroad crossing (at Armstrong Rd). The store was opened later to serve the town. Today the general store is the only reminder of the town
