founded c1850 in warrenton began church church completed 1853 st stephen Lutheran (now st stephen community church) split from St Stephen Lutheran Warrenton in 1854 officially separated 1858 when renamed Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran later spelled Immanuel (adopted english spelling) 1860 cemetery on ne corner old st rd and volman (e of horns property) original building used as church and school proper church built 1869 (school was separate) 1886 new frame school built borrowed Trinity Luth (Darmstadt) pastor c1874 parsonage built next to church after church got a full time pastor early 1900s/1914 parsonage replaced with newer building

ground breaking for new church 5-11-1947 in IR with picture church and cemetery (1860-present) gothic Revival was school with church in 1880 but no label in 1899 former church house volkman Rd c1915 Free Classic (across st from church) last service 1949 in old frame church after brick one built immanuel school closed, combined with trinity lutheran in 1960 old church used as fellowship hall until 1967 when a new activieties building was completed and the old church razed
