History

The Franklin Street House was built c1870 as a boarding house. A saloon was located on the bottom floor franklin st house [1884]? real estate spec says built 1869 Franklin House was in the corner building -1898CD

A one story addition was built to the left c1889 (226 Franklin St). That addition was later made 3-story with matching brickwork sometime around 1900. saloon was in the corner building (230) 1899CD Heyns Furniture Co 1899 was in the left buildings closed sometime around death 1930

Spillman Hotel [1940] 1950 Day & Nite restaurant/hotel and Robert Irwin liquors La Palma Hotel (florence spillman) 19 yrs

Swonder Mattress Co fire same building? caused damage? (first ave 1964, s fares in 1977)

remodeled 2008 but stalled

2012 scheduled to become Tin Man Brewing Co
