As the Old Midtown Evansville is brought down to make way for the new

A large section of downtown is littered with debris as the result of the city's war on midtown blight. The old Cook's Brewery, Assumption Catholic Cathedral and school, and several smaller structures have been razed to make way for the Civic Center complex. At the extreme left, a crane is removing debris from inside the old brewhouse, which is being demolished. At the corner of 7th and Vine the entrance to the old Assumption Cathedral is all that stands in that block. View is looking northwest
